Bad Panda Records = Great, Free Music

To sum it up simply:

Bad Panda is a free-download netlabel releasing Creative Commons licensed songs. One free song every monday.

Inspired by a Wired article written by David Byrne and the Free Music Movement, they’ve been sharing songs and interviews with musicians since December 2009. It’s an interesting model for a record label – especially since all songs are released under Creative Commons licenses. And they don’t just give out MP3s. In most cases you can download the original, uncompressed OGG files.

If you are just now discovering Bad Panda, you’re in for a treat. Though you probably won’t recognize many of the artists (complete list here), that’s the beauty of it. You have a wonderful and diverse playlist of 55 songs waiting for you. Start with Andy & Muzz’s track “Hands to Ground” and work your way up to the most recent addition of Anders Ilar’s “Traveller”.
