Bradford Cox Releases Four Free Atlas Sound Albums

On Monday of last week the indie music blogosphere went nuts over a free album Georgia native and Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox released under his Atlas Sound moniker. His “Bedroom Databank: Volume 1” had 11 unreleased tracks and meticulous notes as to when, where, and on what they were recorded. The “Volume 1” should have been a hint of things to come…

The following day those same bloggers were scrambling to update their blog posts with news that he had released a second Databank Volume – this time with 16 tracks!

The next day a third Databank showed up…

And on Thursday a fourth! The final (maybe?) Databank Volume put the collection’s total song count to 49 and included a short story about a boy whose first love is a hermaphrodite name Sue (Freaks and Geeks, anyone?).

Head over to the Deerhunter/Atlas Sound/Lotus Plaza blog and grab the four albums while they are still available. After all, Sony Music already tried to pull them all down (they’ve since apologized).

Also, catch Cox and his band Deerhunter making their first television appearance this Thursday night at 11pm EST on TBC’s Conan.
