The Blue Indian Recommends: Molly Parden

Molly Parden

I’m not sure if I’m the first writer to say this about this young lady, but I’m gonna call it. Molly Parden will be some lucky dude’s sugar mama one day. In other words, her guitar and voice will make her a lot of money in her lifetime. Some people just have it. What is it… the “X factor”? Yeah, that’s it. She’s got it.

If you’re reading this and you’re a talent scout, look no further. You’ve stumbled upon a goldmine. She’s got the works– a rich voice, a striking appearance, and above average folky-guitar skills. Parden has a way of not trying to do too much with her voice. She’s very aware of her boundaries vocally and admirably dances boldly on these boundaries without going too far. It’s a beautiful thing, really. Did I mention her near-perfect songwriting abilities? Don’t think so.

I could go on, but I’m going to let you fall in love with  her music on your own. It’s better that way anyways. But before you go over to her MySpace page, pay close attention to the following songs: “Lord Have Mercy,” “This Is It, Love,” and “We Sat Under the Marble Light.” Oh and her cover of “You Are My Sunshine” will make you smile.

Probably my favorite song of hers called, “C’est La Vie” is available for your listening pleasure below. Okay, here’s the deal: since I just let you in on Georgia’s best kept secret, you must follow Molly on Twitter HERE and go to her shows. Tell her The Blue Indian sent ya.
