TheBlueIndian.com Presents: Modern Skirts (11/13) & Manchester Orchestra (12/3)

TheBlueIndian.com is very proud to announce two upcoming shows we will be presenting in Macon, Georgia. These two shows will be some of our last for 2010 and we’re all very excited about having such talented lineups. We will be featuring posts about the artists in the upcoming weeks and we encourage you to check out these artists live videos and music.

First, on November 13th, we’ve got Modern Skirts from Athens, Georgia, as part of their Full Length CD Release Tour with Washington D.C.’s Deleted Scenes. They will be joined by recent Bragg Jam 2010 featured artist The Rocketboys from Austin, Texas. Deleted Scenes most recent full length Birdseed Shirt has received acclaim from numerous websites and publications such as Pitchfork, Flagpole, NPR and more. The Rocketboys will be making the stop in Macon as part of their Fall Tour promoting their upcoming release Wellwisher, out 11/2.  Rounding out the night at 12am, Macon’s own OLD FLAME will be hosting an after show DJ set. This all goes down at The So Chi Gallery, located at 534 2nd Street in Downtown Macon. Doors open at 8:00pm and tickets are $7 for 18+ and $5 for 21+

Then, as part of Macon’s “Friday Fest” on December 3rd, we will be hosting Andy Hull, the front man of Atlanta, Georgia’s Manchester Orchestra as part of a special South Eastern acoustic tour consisting of artists of Favorite Gentlemen Records. He will be joined by Kevin Devine from Brooklyn, New York, and the two will be playing not only individual acoustic sets of their own music, but music from their newest collaboration with members of Manchester Orchestra, Bad Books. Bad Books self-titled full length was released earlier this month. Opening the night will be MO guitarist Robert McDowell’s side project Gobotron. This will be the first time that any of these artists have performed in Macon, as well as one of Bad Book’s first shows in the South. This ALL AGES show will be held at The 567, located at 533 Cherry St on the main stage. Tickets are $11 advance & $13 day of show. Advance tickets are available for a limited time at www.andyandkevin.ducatking.com .

We look forwarding to seeing you at these two great events and hope you will encourage your friends to come out for two nights of live music.
