The Friends of Mike Weaver Foundation is pleased to announce the return to Fat Possom Records‘ FUTUREBIRDS to Macon to headline the 6th annual Weaver’s Weekend concert on Saturday, August 24th at Macon’s newest venue, The Crazy Bull. Fresh off a near three-month stint in support of their newest release, Baba Yaga, the band will be one of the first acts to play at the recently opened multi-venue complex. Direct support for the FUTUREBIRDS comes from rising Southern rock act THOMAS WYNN & THE BELIEVERS who recently played to a packed house at Historic Grant’s Lounge in Macon during Bragg Jam.

Weaver’s Weekend will mark FUTUREBIRDS only Georgia show of the summer prior to their upcoming 10/4 headline at the Georgia Theatre and will be the first time for many in the area to see the band perform songs from Baba Yaga live. The band headlined Weaver’s Weekend 2011 to a packed house at the Cox Capitol Theatre.

Proceeds from the event go to support the Friends of Mike Weaver Foundation, a foundation set up to help improve the quality of youth fitness education in the Middle Georgia area. Since 2008, the group has donated more than $20,000.00 to various area causes.

Weaver’s Weekend 2013 is an all-ages, non-smoking event. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. Advance tickets will go on-sale on Tuesday, August 6th. Order your tickets now!
