Giant Giants is an Asheville/Atlanta based music project headed by UNCA Music graduate Reid Weigner (currently of Reptar). Begun as a solo project in 2009, Giant Giants has expanded and evolved to include many talented musicians based in the Southeastern US from bands such as Reptar, Hello Hugo, and Baby Rattlesnakes. In live form, the music has a heavy percussion emphasis often including up to four percussionists at any given moment. Giant Giants currently has one release out, called A Place I’d Like To Meet You on the Asheville-based label Diatom Bath. New albums are currently in the works, including an album featuring the music played by the Ensemble.

On Friday, February 7th, Giant Giants make their Savannah debut at Hangfire.

The band will be joined by Wowser Bowser, our old friends from Atlanta. Wowser Bowser recently awoke from quite a lengthy hibernation and are back with what I think are their best songs yet.

Opening the show will be Savannah-based live production act sunGlow.

Giant Giants will be at the Flicker Theatre & Bar in Athens on February 8th with Wowser Bowser and at the Grey Eagle in Asheville on February 11th supporting Marco Benevento.
