On tour in support of his latest album, Grammy-nominated (for work with Buddy Guy & The Dickinsons) artist Jimbo Mathus of Squirrel Nut Zippers will be setting up camp at the Star Bar in Little Five Points Atlanta on Saturday, May 25th. Mathus has lead a full and adventurous life, from working as a river barge deckhand to travelling thousands of miles of roads across the country

His newest album via Fat Possum Records has been dubbed White Buffalo, a seemingly appropriate name for the unique touch Mathus gives to his sound. Buffalo seeps the sounds of the South, both the “old” and “new”, and conjures up imagery of crowded blues joints, back-alley jam sessions, and the woefully beautiful and tragic story of the working man.

Tickets are still available for this show, but they’ll move fast so get to the venue early. Mathus is widely considered to be one of the top players of his style and always brings a party to Atlanta.
