Ten Years of Wanee Festival: April 10th-12th, 2014
Since Wanee Festival first began in 2005, it’s been a magical event. Extended members of the world-wide Allman Brothers Band family originally convened on the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida in 2005 for the first Festival and a chain of events was set in motion that eventually resulted in what will be the 10th annual event – one featuring the last ever performance of the Allman Brothers Band at Wanee (during the final act of their story as a live band), as well as sets from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule, and a slew of acts closely related to the ABB family, as well as performances from Futurebirds, Blind Boys of Alabama, Break Science and more.
The 10th annual Wanee Festival will take place at the beloved Spirit of Suwannee Music Park from April 10th – April 12th. We’re pleased to offer you a glimpse back at the long and winding road it’s been so far… and all the amazing acts who’ve graced the stages at the Park.

Billed as the “first ever Allman Brothers Festival”, the inaugural Wanee Festival was held April 15th – 16th and featured performances from Gov’t Mule, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, The Derek Trucks Band, Galactic, The John Popper Project, and five others. Tickets for two nights with The Brothers and friends cost fans just $100.00 for general admission.
April 14th-15th, 2006
Following a successful first year, Wanee Festival 2006 drew more than 5000 people to the Spirit of Suwannee Park. Along with The Brothers and the usual cast of friends, performances from OAR, North Mississippi All Stars, The Wailers, and more highlighted the sophomore year of the Festival. A special midnight set from The Derek Trucks Band was a definite crowd pleaser for those that stayed awake long enough.

Wanee Festival newbies Keller Williams & Nickle Creek made for an added bonus for fans returning to the third year of the event. Wanee Festival expanded to feature more than fifteen acts in 2007.

Due to issues with recovery from a medical procedure Gregg was dealing with, the Allman Brothers Band were forced to cancel their appearance at the fourth annual Festival.
