The Big Bird Bash [April 23rd]

big bird bash The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom has come a long way in the past few years. Since it was taken over by new co-owner Tim Obelgoner, he and Vic Stanley have made it their personal mission to turn the Bird into a full fledged bar and venue with live music 3-4 nights a week and an amazing staff to complement the down-home juke joint environment. Packed out shows are a frequent occurrence at the Bird, most recently with Back City Woods’ CD release show and Modern Skirts (Michael Stipe of REM even made an appearance).

In January, the Hummingbird held their first all-day music festival called “The Big Bird Bash” with over 11 bands on two stages and an plethora of foods, drink specials, and activities outside. I had to attend another show that night but I stopped by around 6pm and the building was already bustling with people. Turns out that over 800 people paid and attended the festival that day and this year’s event is sure to be bigger and better. Everything is going down on Saturday, April 23rd, with bands starting around 12pm and going until 2am. Check out the complete lineup and details below. See you there!
