Bangor, Maine.  July 11th 2011 – The KahBang Festival 2011 is proud to announce the addition of a campsite to its diverse festival offerings.  Implemented due to customer demand, festival attendees will be able to camp Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night (August 11th-13th) during KahBang’s music weekend featuring My Morning Jacket, Lupe Fiasco, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Chromeo, Atmosphere, Surfer Blood, Atomic Tom, and dozens more.  The campsite itself will feature its own stage, and will provide around-the-clock entertainment for campers.  KahBang Festival and camping passes are available now at www.kahbang.com!

Located on outer Hammond Street in Hermon, the campsite is a quick 5 minutes away from the Bangor Waterfront where KahBang is held, and campers will be transported back and forth via a shuttle service between the campsite, Downtown Bangor, and the Waterfront.  Current camp capacity stands at 1900, with the potential to expand pending additional permitting.  Local facilities will provide campers with an arcade, two bars (serving until 1am in accordance with Maine’s liquor laws), as well as the opportunity to mini-golf and bowl, while the campsite stage will offer on-site entertainment including live music and outdoor movie screenings.  The lineup for the campsite stage will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We at KahBang are all really excited to announce this campsite.  Our volunteer group has worked extensively with the Town of Hermon to make this a reality, and we owe them many thanks. The addition of camping truly solidifies us as a super-regional event. We’re excited to receive individuals from across the country and have them experience our event and beautiful summer in Maine.  We’re currently selling tickets at a rate of about 50% out of state, and we believe that the addition of camping will enhance this – bolstering the economy of the region.” – Tim Lo, Executive Director
