Win Tickets to the Big Bird Bash – Macon, Georgia – March 2nd

big bird bash 2

On March 2nd, The Hummingbird Stage and Taproom in Macon is proud to present the inaugural Big Bird Bash Festival – set to take place at the Historic Luther Williams Field in downtown Macon. The event, which began two years ago as a series of benefit concerts for local organizations, has since evolved into a full scale outdoor festival. To debut their festival, they’re bringing one of Athens’ finest, the Drive By Truckers, along with Drivin’ n’ Cryin’, and a full support lineup from Modern Skirts, Moon Taxi, Back City Woods, and a number of other local acts.

The festival, which is open to all ages, is only $25.00 and will mark the first of what we hope many festivals in the ball park, one of the oldest baseball parks in America. You can expect all the usual festy treats – food vendors, beer trucks etc.. but they’re also throwing a mechanical bull, whiskey sampling, and a number of other activities to keep you occupied throughout the day.

Gates open at noon that Saturday, but I’d advise you to get there early and get a bit of tailgating in. I’m especially excited about finally seeing Moon Taxi, a band who has been catching buzz around the country for their incredible live sets with Cherub, Machines Are People Too, and the like, as well as Modern Skirts, who never fail to impress and get bodies moving.
