active childLos Angeles-based artist Pat Grossi aka Active Child is excited to announce the release of his new music video for the song “I’m In Your Church At Night.” Premiering on Pitchfork yesterday, the hypnotic clip for “I’m In Your Church At Night” was directed by Petro Papahadjopoulos and features the work of a magical trio of pastry chefs who use their craft to create two pure and angelic beings – otherworldly to say the very least.

“I’m In Your Church At Night” is featured on Active Child’s debut EP titled Curtis Lane on FILTER US Recordings, an offering that has been praised by notable outlets such as NME, The Guardian, Pitchfork, The Fader, LA Weekly and many others due to Grossi’s skilled use of various ’80s-tinged synths that create ethereal, soaring soundscapes which are punctuated by crisp electronic drum samples and handclaps. All of this lays the groundwork for Grossi’s exquisite vocals which, with their unearthly sound and evocative lyrics, take on an enchanting, hymnal quality that would not be out of place amongst the richly-colored sunlight of a church’s stained-glass interior. Currently, Active Child is working on his debut full-length album that will be released in Spring 2011 on Vagrant Records.

In addition, Active Child will be touring with UK-based gloom-rockers White Lies in February. Beginning on Friday, February 4, 2011 at The Junction in Cambridge, England, Active Child will be supporting White Lies over 10 dates that will hit other notable venues such as Shepherds Bush Empire in London on February 10 and even extending up to Barrowland in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 16. Active Child will be on tour supporting White Lies at the following venues across the UK in February 2011.
