free mp3: “Message” by Floco Torres
Macon native Floco Torres and his band have been hard at work this past six months. They’ve spent countless hours since November at Star Motel Studios working with local producer/engineer Rob Evans on their upcoming full length album Floco’s Modern Life, which is due out February 28th via online retailers (iTunes, Amazon) and at select local businesses from Macon, Georgia to Willingboro, New Jersey.
Floco (Kevin Williams) has spent the past few years making a name for himself in Macon and the surrounding areas as a rising rap/hip-hop artist working with other musicians around town as a way to expand his sound and add a unique blend of rock and electronic music to his already dynamic live shows. After Torres assembled a group of friends (Travis Reeves, Jason Chapman, and Tommy Superior) to help write and record songs he had been demoing, they decided to began writing and playing shows full time as a band.
TheBlueIndian.com is pleased to be releasing a first look at what Floco’s upcoming album has to offer in the form of an exclusive track titled “Message.” The song features a sample from an interview that Bob Dylan did with various press groups in San Francisco in 1965. The sentiment that Dylan expresses in the interview parallels the emotion that Torres evokes in his song by making it clear that his work is very personal but easily relatable to people who pay attention.
