The 567’s Stories and Songs Series

For the past few months Macon, Georgia’s The 567 venue has been hosting the monthly concert series Stories and Songs — shows that feel more like sitting in a living room with your friends and a few of your favorite songwriters. Featured songwriters tell the stories behind the songs they play and talk about the art of music.

Past Georgia musicians performing in the series have included Louise Warren, Jared Wright & Heather Kemp of Oh Dorian (video of Jared here), Danny Brewer of Besides Daniel, Justin Cutway of Trendleberg, and more.

Next week on Saturday, August 18th you can catch artists Baxter James (of Gringo Grande, Lucas Woodgeard, and Megg Serrano (of Paper Dress). Tickets are $7 at the door, $5 for students. Doors open at 7:30, music starts at 8.

Head over to The 567’s web site for a list of upcoming months’ performers. More about next week’s songwriters below.

Baxter James/Gringo Grande

Baxter James is best known for his role as front man in the Macon band GringoGrande. GringoGrande is a rock band with heavy influences from blues and folk music, and they always bring a good time to every show.

Lucas Woodgeard

Lucas Woodgeard has been writing and performing songs for 13 years. While he started out in an 80s cover band, his musical journey has taken him to being the worship leader at Centerpoint Church, and he currently writes pop/rock tunes about the greatness of God.

Megg Serrano/Paper Dress

Megg Serrano grew up in California, but she moved to Atlanta 4 years ago where she learned to play the banjo and formed the folk duo, Paper Dress. Her songs come straight from the heart.
