Riding high on the success of You’re Gonna Miss it All, their sophomore release, MODERN BASEBALL will be making a much anticipating return to Atlanta on Wednesday, December 3rd at The Masquerade. The Philadelphia-based group found themselves with an immensely supportive fan base following the release of Sports, their debut full-length released in 2011, an album Property of Zack recommended for “fans of Motion City Soundtrack’s lyrics and drunkenly grasping the shoulders of your best friend”.

You’re Gonna Miss it All picks up right where the debut left off, although the band seems far more comfortable exploring new territory with their instrumentation and writing. Over the past few weeks, I’ve grown to love the album the way I did when I first heard The Front Bottoms; quirky, well-rehearsed songs that are more stream-of-consciousness than they are polished indie-pop numbers.

They’re joined on the tour by Knuckle Puck, Crying, and Somos, as well as opening support from Cayetana. I haven’t listened to any of the support acts aside from Knuckle Puck, but there’s a few weeks between now and then for me to investigate.

Tickets are available for $13.00 and are moving quickly, so be smart about this one.
