BAD BOOKS Concert Videos (Andy Hull & Kevin Devine)
This past Friday night (12/03/10) was a pretty surreal evening for the city of Macon, especially its indie music fans. It was First-Friday, and if you’re not all-to- familiar with the Macon music scene, you should know that First-Friday is always a big night for all the local eateries, bars, businesses, and especially music venues in the downtown area. And not to toot our own horn here, but it was no secret that TheBlueIndian.com’s show at The 567 on 533 Cherry Street in downtown Macon was the place to be that night. Andy Hull [Manchester Orchestra] and Kevin Devine (together a.k.a BAD BOOKS), along with opening act, Gobotron, were in town to give TheBlueIndian.com and all who were in attendance one of the most entertaining indie rock shows in quite some time. Actually, possibly ever. Folks came from all across this beautiful peach state to hear these national stars from the north Atlanta area. For The Blue Indian, The 567, and the city of Macon, this is always a great thing to be apart of.
It’s no secret to many that Andy Hull has graced the stages of the late-night shows of David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Conan O’Brien. And perhaps even more impressive, Hull and his band, Manchester Orchestra, have been one of the headlining acts for more than a handful of major festivals all across this country for the past several years. To me personally, this show was a big deal. And it shouldn’t and will not go unnoticed that the head of booking for TheBlueIndian.com as well as founder of TheBlueIndian.com Presents, Sean Pritchard, worked his tail off to make this happen. So, if you were at this show and were as entertained as I was, give Sean a big hi-five if you see him around town.
So, it was a great night for us all. As you go throughout this week, keep a close watch here at TheBlueIndian.com as we’ll be posting more videos, photos, and a few surprises from the show.
Much love to you all,
