The Jr. Jr.‘s are back and life sounds better than ever for them. Motor City’s patron saints of feel-good electro-pop released the earworm single”If You Didn’t See Me (Then You Weren’t On The Dancefloor)” from their upcoming Patterns EP on April 2nd, easing the anxious audiences who wondered what would follow up their acclaimed 2011 full-length debut, It’s a Corporate World. Cooing out, “You’re supposed to surrender to the bass / You’re supposed to blend into this place / You’re supposed to stay just long enough to be found”, the track has the staying power to last well beyond the claims of the next “Spring Break anthem”. The EP quickly becomes more personal with “Dark Water”, a rolling tune that feels of both Andrew Bird and Damon Albarn that ends on the note “Maybe you were always drowning.”

“Hiding” and “Habits” – the remaining tracks on the record – are soaked in rich synth sounds, clever production techniques, and of course – the layered vocals that fans have loved since their Horse Power EP. Patterns is a surefire step in a direction that fans, both old and new, will appreciate from a band that seems more comfortable with themselves than ever. The EP is scheduled to be released digitally via Warner Brothers Records on April 16th and physically on April 20th as part of Record Store Day.

The band will be celebrating the release of Patterns with a select number of headlining shows, including a special hometown Record Store Day show in Detroit at The Majestic Theater for the second year in a row. They’ll also be performing in NYC, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. All confirmed dates are below.
