Eros & the Eschaton – Andy Carter

Somehow (perhaps because of the records they’ve put out over the past two years – The Front Bottoms, DRGN King), we’ve developed a relationship with New Jersey-based record label Bar None. Known most notably for launching the careers of Yo La Tengo, They Might Be Giants, and Freedy Johnston, the label has been actively signing some amazing new acts from around the States.

Introducing EROS & THE ESCHATON, one of the most recent signees to the label. The North Carolina-based duo/couple (currently residing/recording in Colorado) have been active for just over a year but have already caught the attention of SPIN, BBC, and Consequence of Sound (to name a few) thanks to their beautiful debut record, Home Address for  Civil War.

Back at the beginning of November, Adam + Kate stopped through Macon for an intimate show at the newly opened Fresh Produce Records, pulling a crowd of some twenty-thirty intrigued locals. In between songs from their debut album, the duo made time to pay tribute to the recently deceased Lou Reed with a rendition of “Pale Blue Eyes”.

Following the show, a small group made their way to the top of a nearby parking garage for this stripped down performance of “You Know I Do” and “Lately I’ve Been Wondering”.
