Show Review: Mel Washington at The 567, January 18, 2013

Since becoming a father, I haven’t been able to get out to a show in close to a year. That all changed when I heard Mel Washington, formerly of All Get Out, was coming to Macon for a special, intimate acoustic show. Upon hearing the news, I reached out to him via Twitter immediately to schedule an Alley Session with him to showcase a few songs off his upcoming release, HOUSES. Before his set, we captured what is, in my opinion, probably one of the better, if not the best, Alley Session yet. And when I thought the night couldn’t get any better, Mel showed up at the Gallery Stage at The 567 just in time for his 10pm scheduled set-time. Mel gave his fans a treat with a 25 minute medley of songs from his upcoming record as well as songs from the catalogs of David Bazan, Andy Hull, and John Mayer. It was truly an amazing night and we absolutely cannot wait to show you Washington’s Acoustic Alley session!
