Acoustic Alley: STOKESWOOD

Stokeswood_StillAppropriately self-described as “low-endie”, Atlanta-based band Stokeswood have spent the last five years honing a sound that spans the quite an impressive spectrum. From sharply produced samples to punchy drum beats to guitar and synth leads that effortlessly break into jam sessions, only to be pulled back into anthemic choruses, it’s an enjoyable sonic experience.

Their most recent single, “Our Streets”, was released earlier this year. The band soon found themselves playing shows alongside Reptar and The Revivalists, opening Party in the Park 2014, and dozens of other notable appearences, along with an already confirmed return slot for The Rock Boat 2015.

The band returned to Macon for the first time in more than a year on September 5th for a special “Back to School” show with locals Good Night Alive! and Bootz and Katz, playing to an eager crowd at the Cox Capitol Theatre. Enjoy the two stripped down sessions recorded prior to the show – Sean Pritchard
