Mark Mathis, “Secret in this Town”

Mark Mathis - Secret in this Town

Mark Mathis releases new record. “Pay what you want!”

A ton of really jammin’ interviews coming your way very soon. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been featured on Indie Vision Music for our interview with Cool Hand Luke. Things are really starting to roll around here, and because of you, we feel that maintaining this site is worth the hard work that goes into it.

Okay, to the good stuff. A couple of years ago (can’t remember the exact date), Radiohead released “In Rainbows” via their website for a “pay-what-you-want” price. If I’m not mistaken, they were the band that sort of made this a popular way to make your music available to even those cheapwads who are unwilling to support art by spending money. And because our generation is rapidly becoming a music-stealing monster, many artists, such as Radiohead, Trent Reznor, and more, are beginning to embrace this generational condition– a state in which major labels are suffering and indie/DIY artists are, in a sense, thriving. If you’re super interested in this sort of thing, read a very interesting article Reznor wrote about it HERE.

Mark Mathis is an artist who isn’t intimidated by such a crisis. Along with many artists these days, Mathis has decided, for now, he’ll just release music for a “pay-what-you-want” price. The Blue Indian recently had a phone conversation about this. Obviously, I can’t say enough good things about what this man (Mathis) is doing with his music. It seems to just get better and better.

Proud to introduce to you a new Mark Mathis record. Pay what you want HERE.
