Exclusive Video Premier: Bear (The Ghost) – “Don’t Act Like That”

We occasionally get the opportunity to premier videos or songs from artists who support our site, so it was an exciting honor to be approached by Broken Circles Records to debut the video for Cincinnati-based act Bear (The Ghost)‘s brand new single + video for the track “Don’t Act Like That”. Bear (The Ghost) is the work of the now disbanded, ex-Lujo Records act Enlou‘s guitarist Robert Ritter and a close collective of friends. Enlou was one of my favorite bands of the past few years and it was sad to see them go, so when we were approached about featuring the video and song, I was thrilled to find out that a few of them were still making music (Curt is currently playing and writing full time with Pomegranates and James Bishop actually worked with Robert on this album).

“Don’t Act Like That” and serves as proper sonic/visual pairing that’s a perfect gateway into Bear (the Ghost)’s overall aesthetic. The track itself shows off the bands electronic, sample/loop based backbone through it’s attractive warmth, subtlety and laid-back atmosphere. It also features the band’s dual vocal presence with the juxtaposition of Robert’s ghastly cries and Sarah’s angelic whispers. What Was All This For? drops on August 21st via Broken Circles on CD / Cassette / Digital. “Don’t Act Like That” will also be available as a very limited square 7”. Bear (the Ghost) features Robert Ritter (ex-Enlou) with the help of Sarah Downen, Noah Blackwell, and James Bishop (also formerly of Enlou). Watch the video below.
