HOLY SONS – Atlanta Show & Free MP3

Emil Amos is a legendary man of many talents. The Portland musician has drummed for indie rock favorites Dolorean as well as doom metal band Om. He has appeared on over 40 records in the last 20 years as well as written literally hundreds of his own songs under the moniker HOLY SONS .

His unique sound is oft compared to other musical luminaries such as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Neil Young (I lean towards the former). His own label describes it as ” improbably successful blend of nightmarish Blade Runner-esque synths and 70’s easy-listening psych.” I’m still trying to wrap my head around that idea.

This Sunday (tomorrow!) you can catch him opening for Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse. He’ll be joined on stage by a full backing band comprised of members of Grails (yet another group he’s a part of) and Dolorean. TheBlueIndian.com will be there enjoying the show as well! We hope to see you there.
