Acoustic Alley: Foe Destroyer

This trio of fantastic songwriters are not only recognized by the industry for their remarkable presence on Snarky Puppy records or as the backing band for the Off-broadway musical Fly By Night, they also are dear friends of ours and our host family for our trip to Austin for SXSW 2013.

Any working class musician will tell you that gigging is a tough life. Coordinating all these videos were difficult, but watching Chris McQueen of Foe Destroyer play four gigs in one day while trying to find time to squeeze in a video session was a mind-boggling realization of the time-management skills necessary to be a world-class musician.

Live from their porch, after an exhausting day of filming downtown, Foe Destroyer played songs off their self-titled debut album completely rearranged in a trimmed-down acoustic version on the fly. Then they were out the door to play another gig.
