Bearstock 2013 – Saturday, April 13th – Macon, Georgia
Mercer University‘s Quadworks is proud to see the return of the 6th annual FREE public music festival, BEARSTOCK, to Tatnall Square Park in Macon, Georgia on Saturday, April 16th. From its humble beginning in 2008 to last year’s record attended festival featuring headliners Yellowcard, the event has shown immense growth and popularity – both on campus and throughout the Southeast.
The 2013 Festival co-headliners include Grammy-award-winning act SWITCHFOOT, electro-pop crooner The Ready Set, and Travis Porter, a hip-hop group from Atlanta. Talent shines through all the way to the opening act of the day, Macon-based producer & DJ, B3. Support acts throughout the day include Stevens Layne, JuBee & the Morning After, The Electric Sons, Baby Baby, Funk You, The Rest of Us, sunDollars, and two of TheBlueIndian.com’s “Band of the Month” picks – Iron Jayne & Wowser Bowser.
Set between two stages in beautiful Tatnall Square Park (just outside of Mercer’s campus in the College Hill district), the FREE festival is expected to draw record crowds. Music from the 13 confirmed bands begins right at 12:00pm and will continue until 11:00pm that evening. With excellent weather forecasted for the day, Bearstock has the potential to bring thousands of people to the area.
We had more than our quota of fun the previous years our crew has covered the event, with some of our most successful Acoustic Alley videos stemming from previous Bearstock artists. 2013 should be no different!
Remember the basics of festival prep (sunscreen, water, don’t eat things you find on the ground) and make sure to look out for yourself and the people around you. Look for us upfront when the bass drops in “Ayy Ladies”…
